So Which one is better, iPone 5C or Samsung Galaxy S4 (Same price)

Finally Apple‘s long rumored cheaper smartphone iPhone 5C unveiled, and this one is going to have a close competition with other smartphones in the market like the Samsung Galaxy S4.

$549 was the price of iPhone 5C revealed with unlocked 16GB and it will cost $649 with 32GB. However, unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes with similar price in eBay and Amazon.

The price of Samsung Galaxy S4 been decreased since the announcement of the company's phablet - Galaxy Note 3. It put some confusions in mind to choose amongst both the phones that one should buy iPone 5C or Samsung Galaxy S4.

Some of the specifications and features are compared here for both the models to let us choose a better option for a smartphone.

Screen Display .         iPhone 5C features the 4-inch screen display as of iPhone 5. Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen display.

Processor .        iPhone 5C is powered by the dual core A6 processor. Samsung Galaxy S4 is have a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 and quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7.

Operating System.     Latest iOS 7 that comes with new features for iPhone 5C. Samsung Galaxy S4 was released with 4.2 version of Android Jelly Bean OS.

Internal Storage.        iPhone 5C comes with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. Samsung Galaxy S4 is also available in those variants but it also includes an expandable storage up to 64GB via micro SD slot.

Camera.    Apple announced its better camera software with 8MP rear camera in iPhone 5C. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13MP rear shooter and boasts dual shot feature.

Battery Life.       Battery life of iPhone 5C not yet disclosed by Apple. It is however, hopeful to see improvements on the new handset. A generous 2600mAh battery is the feature of Samsung Galaxy S4.

Colours.    iPhone 5C, comes in a numerous of colour options - red, blue, green, yellow and white. Black Mist and White Frost colour options are available for Samsung Galaxy S4. In Sprint, Purple Mirage is added on the line up.

iPhone 5C is 100$ cheaper than iPhone 5

It was expected, the iPhone 5C cheaper will be cheaper so it now been some how confirmed. It is some $100 cheaper iPhone 5 and the same iPhone inside a plastic chassis.
“This year we are going to replace iPhone 5” this was the earlier statement by Tim Cook . And they did exactly that. It was expected about the discount on old iPhone 5 but they replaced the same with  iPhone 5C and priced it by $100 less.

Specifications of iPhone 5C are as mentioned below:
4” Retina displayA6 CPU (the same as in iPhone 5)8mpx camera with BSI, hybrid IR filter and 5 element lensFacetime HD front camera with 1.9 micron pixels and BSILTE connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0It will cost  $99 for 16GB version and $199 for 32GB.
The problem is what iPhone 5C may be a cheaper iPhone, but it seems not so cheap. Unless Apple is giving some discounts to U.S carriers, not reflected in $99 contract price, subsidized iPhone 5C is at least $499 device. Which leaves 5C in the high end smartphone category, and is way too expensive if Apple wants to reinvigorate its growth, especially outside U.S.

Let’s see what tomorrow’s event in China brings us. How high iPhone 5C is priced over there,
and what carrier subsidies Apple was able to extract this time. For now, things doesn’t look
too good.
It could be guessed that we have to wait until iPhone 6, when 5C price drops another $100, for Apple to finally have a device that can compete in higher volume upper mid range of the market.

What is Changed in iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C?

Apple recently launched 2 new iPhones 5 upgrades, creating a stir worldwide in smartphone markets. While the iPhone 5s is mostly well-received and is enjoying much fanfare already, the iPhone 5c is a bit controversial. It brings a new design and is supposedly aimed towards new markets, in short, the cheaper version. Despite this, it comes with a hard-to-swallow price tag.

But regardless of anything, iPhone 5C is cheaper than the iPhone 5S. Which one should you be buying? Your decision should depend on the following factors:

Design

The iPhone 5S looks better than the previous iPhone 5 and also better than the 5C (despite the fact that it’s actually 5C which is replacing the 5). It is quite sleek, weighing in at just 112g and being 7.6mm thick. Compared to that, the 5c is a bit chubby at 132g heavy and 9mm thick.

Also, while the 5s is made of premium materials (high-grade aluminium), the 5C is made of poly-carbonate plastic. But don’t let that fool you. We haven’t handled it ourselves yet but since it uses a reinforced steel structure within, it’s one of the sturdiest plastic phones yet. (At least according to journalists who've used it.) It still won’t be beating aluminium though.

The 5C comes in a wide range of colors (five to be precise) while the 5S comes in three color combinations, which come with more serious looks.

As for the screen, both have 4 inch Retina Displays with Gorilla Glass.

One huge addition on the 5s is Touch ID, which is a great substitute for passwords. The fingerprint scanner can memorize multiple fingerprints, is made of sapphire and has 500 pixels per inch. That is something not found on the 5c.

Internals

This is probably where the 5s has taken the biggest strides. The new A7 is the first 64-bit processor in a smartphone which is twice as fast as the A6 found in the 5c. Graphics are twice as fast too. Also making an entry is the M7 motion co-processor.

Now, of course, the A6 is not too bad either and will get the job done if you plan on playing casual games but to really believe in the A7, you have to see the Infinity Blade III demo. If that doesn't impress you, nothing will.

Software

On the software side, both the 5s and 5c are almost similar, with the former getting an edge due to the Touch ID. The technology has been incorporated cleverly in several aspects of the user interface such as software and music purchases in App Store and iTunes.

The iWork suite and iMovie & iPhoto are free too which should really boost productivity from your iOS device.

Camera

The cameras on both the 5s and 5c are of 8 megapixels. But again, the camera on the 5s is better, with a larger sensor, larger pixel size and a True Tone dual-led Flash. It also does 720p videos at 120fps, slow motion videos and of course, 1080p videos at 30fps. The 5c can only stand its ground in that last instance.

Pricing

The iPhone 5c is considerably cheaper, at $549 for the starting model. The 5s however, will be starting at around $700 for the starting model.

Why should I choose iPhone 5S

  • More serious design
  • Thinner, Lighter
  • Touch ID, Better home button
  • Apple A7, M7 processor
  • Better 8 megapixel camera, True Tone, Slow-motion videos
  • Why should I choose iPhone 5C

Cheaper

  • More colorful, youthful and glossy
  • Plastic can take more hits on the ground
  • Basically a redesigned iPhone 5 (if that’s a plus point for you)

Apple is going to launch iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

Apple is raring to go again with the much-anticipated launch just around the block — the top-end iPhone 5S and a cheaper iPhone 5C are set to be showcased in an event in Cupertino, which will also be shown to a select group of guests in China via satellite link.

The invite makes it almost certain that Apple will most likely continue with its boring naming convention and unveil the iPhone 5S, along with a lighter iPhone 5C, on Tuesday.

As with previous Apple smartphones, the iPhone 5S will be available in stores in the latter part of 2013, following in the footsteps of the iPhone 5 and the older iPhone 4S.

The 5S may well carry the same design features as the iPhone 5 but with a slightly faster processor and a better camera running.

With massive launches like the newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note III, Sony Xperia Z1 behind us, Apple seriously needs to up the ante if it has to strengthen its faltering profit margins.
